The Vall\u00e9e d\u2019Osterlog Endemic Garden is a wonder world of 275 hectares of sub humid mountain forest nestled in between Mountain Lagrave and Mountain Laselle that form part of the Grand Port Mountain Range.\u00a0 It is a meeting point with nature in its most raw and authentic state.<\/p>

Visitors will be indulged in an illusionary, heaven world, generated by spectacular viewpoints, lofty spots, picturesque panoramic scenery and patronizing hill tops which sculpt an amazing scenery of pristine emerald green forests, complemented by nature \u2018add-ons\u2019 of magnificent crystal clear snaking streams and idyllic waterfalls cascading over rock pinnacles and mountain flanks.<\/p>

Such a nature adventure, backed up by picnic spots will make you feel as relaxed, peaceful and delighted with your family and dear ones. The Vall\u00e9e d\u2019Osterlog Endemic Garden Foundation was created in 2007 to safeguard, preserve and rehabilitate the living jewel, Vall\u00e9e d\u2019Osterlog Endemic Garden.<\/p>

Today this living jewel of 275 hectares is a sanctuary of biodiversity, guaranteeing the future of its endemic fauna and flora.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t

The Vall\u00e9e d\u2019Osterlog Endemic Garden forms part of the 2% remnant native and endemic forests that remains in Mauritius. The Garden has a rich biodiversity endemism of flora.<\/p>

Several critically endangered endemic and indigenous plant species have been discovered at Vall\u00e9e d\u2019Osterlog Endemic Garden such as the Bois clou (Eugenia bojeri)<\/em>, Vacoas (Pandanus iceryi)<\/em>, Tambalacoque (Sideroxylon grandiflorum)<\/em>, Ebene marbr\u00e9 \u00e0 grosse feuilles (Diospyros boutoniana) <\/em>and Bois Perroquet (Olax psittacorum)<\/em>.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

Mauritius and its adjacent islets have 52 native species of forest vertebrates and 24 out of them are now extinct.<\/p>

Rare fauna species such as\u00a0Mauritius Black Bulbul (Hypsipetes olivaceus)<\/em>, Mauritius Grey White Eye (Zosteropus mauritianus)<\/em>, Grey tomb bat (Taphozous mauritianus)<\/em> have been inventoried at Vall\u00e9e d\u2019Osterlog.<\/p>

On the 29th<\/sup> May 2019, a Pink Pigeon Display Facility was inaugurated at Vall\u00e9e d\u2019Osterlog Endemic Garden and a pair of Pink Pigeon (Nesoenas mayeri)<\/em> is living at the heart of the restored forest together with four Aldabra giant tortoises (aldabrachelys gigantea<\/em>).<\/p><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t
